Samsung Galaxy Note 8 review

Samsung galaxy note 8

The Galaxy Note 8 has finally been unveiled. The new Samsung  promises high performance and high ease of use. As usual with the Note range, the South Korean giant wants to encourage users to use the Pen S Pen, although some might doubt the usefulness of this tool in 2017.

Does a large smartphone necessarily require a stylus to be used? The majority of those around me would answer "no" without hesitation. But some of my friends and family around the world believe it is a practical tool, and the latter are probably quite numerous as Samsung continues to offer the S Pen on its Note range.

Thus, the Galaxy Note 8 freshly unveiled is no exception. We had the opportunity to take it in hand. The opportunity to share with you our first feelings.

The screen is very impressive, with its diagonal of 6.3 inches. For comparison, that of Galaxy S8 + is 6.2 inches. The Galaxy Note has an AMOLED display, which provides excellent contrast, with a QHD definition and a delicious screen ratio of 18.5: 9.

In the back, on the back covered with glass, we find a problem similar to that of the Galaxy S8 concerning the fingerprint reader: this one is shifted on the right, which can hinder the grasp of the user , Even if it is most certainly done over time. In addition, it is always possible to unlock the phone using the iris scanner or facial recognition.

On the other hand, one quickly forgets this detail by seeing - just beside the sensor of imprints - the double camera. The Galaxy Note 8 is Samsung's first product to double its goals. Said lenses are quite spaced apart, which generates a rather large and not necessarily very graceful photo module in the center of the rear face.

A double photo sensor promising

For the photo, Samsung has yielded to the fashion of double sensors. Both goals have a definition of 12 megapixels, but are not at all identical. The first is a wide-angle with a wide diaphragm aperture at f / 1.7 while its counterpart is a telephoto lens open at f / 2.4 ... as on the iPhone 7 Plus.

One of the interests of this combination is to make photos in portrait mode by playing before and after on the net blur effect that distinguishes the subject from his environment. In addition, thanks to the optical stabilization that the two sensors benefit, the Galaxy Note 8 promises quality photos, especially in low light, without too much difficulty.

Normally, we can trust the South Korean giant on this plan since he often signed good smartphones for the photo. It remains to be seen whether its beginnings in the world of double sensors are successful.
